[01:42:04] <halibut> Well, sheet. I hope all of you people go to jail for aiding a bedding.
[01:42:52] <halibut> That was one of the liveliest conversations I have seen here in a wild. I guess you never know what sort of topic will trigger something like that.

[06:41:42] <c0lo> sounds like a stupid interpretation of 'If you owe the bank $100, that's your problem. If you owe the bank $100 million, that's the bank's problem.'
[06:58:09] <fab23> I guess it is also my problem if the bank owe me more then CHF100 :)
[07:49:44] <c0lo> Just now I learned that Sep 23 was supposed to be some sort of a rapture.
[07:49:44] <c0lo> And I find mildly amusing that the rape and rapture words have the same etymology (latin raptus), yet many just can't wait to be the subject of the latter.
[07:55:27] <Ingar> we did pass the autumnal equinox
[07:55:50] <Ingar> and crossed into the darkness
[07:57:08] <c0lo> Sucks to be in those places, Ingar, Christmas is the best mid summer holiday.
[08:01:29] <c0lo> T-shirt and shorts, cold beer, barbecue. Maybe a swim on the seaside, defo need good amount of SPF50+ goop

[08:02:29] <Ingar> c0lo: you forget I do astronomy !
[08:32:25] <janrinok> halibut, a bit late in my reply, but your "I hope all of you people go to jail for aiding a bedding." was a master stroke. I admit, I laughed .... a lot!
[08:43:50] <c0lo> Ingar, touche, indeed I forgot
[08:45:47] <c0lo> Now that you mentioned, had you seen something resembling a rapture on the date? Maybe shot some photos of Evangelicals floating into the void of space?

[12:15:42] <systemd> ^ 03Oklahoma official says all high schools will have Turning Point chapters after Charlie Kirk killing
[12:16:37] <c0lo> I can't wait for all high schools in Oklahoma to open Antifa and BLM chapters too.
[12:16:58] <Ingar> c0lo: no, only full cloud cover
[12:17:20] <Ingar> It might clear out here tonight, but I probabely already jinxed it by saying that
[12:18:04] <Ingar> I saw an interesting video yesterday
[12:18:38] <Ingar> elder german citizens comparing the 30's to today
[12:20:01] <Ingar> we should start writing Trump with an Umlaut

[18:18:56] <janrinok> Ingar, get your telescopes down here - we have a perfectly clear sky at the moment!
[18:35:57] <fab23> Ingar: our European SN helicopter will pick you up in a few moments 🙃
[18:53:17] <janrinok> er, no, I'm using it tonight to travel to my yacht in the Med....
[19:00:04] <Ingar> janrinok: that clear sky is drifting my way ;)
[23:17:00] <halibut> janrinok: Thanks! I was hoping it was not too obscure.
[23:17:15] <halibut> That lighthouse video is amazing.
[23:19:34] <halibut> Concerning the story about Oklahoma forcing all schools to have a Turning Point chapter ... that smelled like it might be hypocritical.
[23:19:57] <halibut> It took exactly one search, and the first link I clicked on, to get this: https://www.koco.com
[23:19:58] <systemd> ^ 03Ryan Walters sends notice to Oklahoma parents to prepare for educational policy changes
[23:21:39] <halibut> That's the Oklahoma governor (the same one forcing schools to start a Turning Point chapter) saying: ``By eliminating the federal bureaucracy, money can be efficiently directed to local schools and allow disenfranchised parents to have more direct say over education in their states and communities.''
[23:22:50] <halibut> Granted, that is a comment about federal bureaucracy, but it seems like the state overriding local choices should be similar ... unless it is something the governor wants, I guess.
