[19:06:00] <drussell> Sure, but when herd and flock sizes aren't galactic-industrial-scale, you don't have a pathogen infect such huge numbers at once. Thats the main issue, especially with things like those intensive chicken farms with 10 birds per square foot, stacked in cages just shitting on the ones below, etc.

[19:09:10] <ted-ious> And the farmers aren't pushing back on it because they get disaster payments from the department of agriculture.
[19:09:33] <chromas> if we're gonna make it like covid then we'll need to take known infected animals and put them into nursing homes with all the old people with fragile health
[19:11:03] <ted-ious> If I was a dishonest person I would get a local farmer drunk and get him to admit that he calls up the fda inspector every few months so he can cull his entire herd and get a big pay out.
