[14:40:18] <Freeman> Hmm..., upon refresh, they are gone. Either someone already was already working on that or that was some quick response time! ;-)
[14:41:33] <requerdanos> already done :)
[14:44:38] <Freeman> Cool, it's been over a year since Aristarchus started his campaign of insanity, yes?
[14:45:21] <requerdanos> He has remarkable amounts of tenacity and free time.
[14:46:18] <Freeman> I'm just thinking probably more than 1/100th of his lifetime has been spent doing this. That just seems nuts.
[14:46:54] <requerdanos> no argument from me on that.
[14:52:37] <requerdanos> There are so many hobbies and pastimes that one could explore that "targeting SoylentNews" seems a bit of an odd choice.

[19:13:41] <Ingar> Aristarchus is there to remind us that people like Aristarchus exist
[19:13:57] <Ingar> and it's also a big hole on the moon
[19:35:02] <progo> Ingar I think you're saying Aristarchus is like a virtual particle begotten of the quantum foam, which hasn't found anything to annihilate with
[19:45:49] <Bytram> progo: lol! good one!

[20:29:43] <aristarchus> Except, of course, those submissions are not by me.  Discrimination has always been rather approximate on SN.  Do you know what it is you're carrying?
[20:36:11] <Bytram> a .45?
[20:37:21] <aristarchus> A living weapon?   Someone is weaponizing SoylentNews, and their name is "River".
[20:39:35] <aristarchus> A Little River.

[20:59:19] <Fnord666> Crap. Missed them again.
[21:09:14] <mechanicjay> Jesus, I've been fighting with this gentoo install for 2 days now. It's making me feel like a newB who doesn't know a damn thing...but there's nothing special about this install....
[21:09:20] <mechanicjay> except that it doesn't work
[21:10:02] <mechanicjay> Note: I've been daily driving gentoo since 2015
[21:10:54] <Ingar> mechanicjay: did you try turning it off and then on again :p
[21:50:59] <Bytram> Ingar: ha ha ha! LOL
[21:55:20] <mechanicjay> for some reason, grub isn't doing the right thing with my root mdadm -- it's boot fine but typing in all the thing to the grub prompt is tiresome.
[22:13:46] <Freeman> mechanicjay, Have you seen this thread? https://forums.gentoo.org

[22:14:36] <mechanicjay> I think I have and it's not quite the issue I'm seeing.
[22:14:51] <mechanicjay> I've set systems up like this before and it's its Just Worked (tm).
[22:15:59] <Freeman> Ahh, I'm pretty useless as far as actual system admin stuff goes. ;-) What I have determined about RAID is that it generally adds a layer of complexity that I as a typical user don't need. ;-)
